Only two years have passed since this compact crossover had been presented to the public, and BMW is going to released its restyled version. As the first models caught on the streets wear too little camouflage, we don’t have to wait for the X4‘s debut too long. It’s true, especially as the X3, which influenced on X4’s design, should be unveiled next year. As for the X4, it is expected to be introduced in early 2019.

While planning refreshment for their models, the German company have prepared for them a new architecture called CLAR. The platform has already been successfully tested on the renewed 7-Series. It can be coupled with new drivetrains and is lighter than its predecessor.

As its sibling, the new X4 may additionally receive a hybrid engine. Besides, under the hood, it will have l4 turbo motors with displacement of two and three liters. The standard transmission option will be an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The most powerful M40i version with its 360-hp engine can easily rival the GLC 63 of Mercedes-Benz.

In the exterior, the new X4 will be formed with sleeker lines and raked surfaces of the hood and roof. The front end elements are a bit lifted.
